Yes, applying oil to a cutting board will keep it cleaner, healthier and will also help keep the wood from drying out, splitting or cracking.

We recommend re-applying the oil once a month. You'll notice the wood feeling drier or looking a lighter color. This is a good indication to oil the board again.

We're not really sealing wood when we oil it. The Cutting Board Oil soaks into the wood and keeps the wood hydrated; it also stops stains and odors from soaking into the wood and so keeps your cutting board looking and smelling better.
