Rust can be difficult to remove as it tends to penetrate deeply into the metal, making it difficult to remove without causing further damage. Common DIY tools along with bikes and car parts can become rusty in places that are difficult to reach. This can damage the items and affect their performance.
Our Rust Remover Liquid will easily eradicate rust from indoor and outdoor objects by acting as a rust remover dip. Use on car parts, bike parts and bicycle chains, garden and DIY tools, nuts and bolts, keys and locks, and more.
It’s super easy to use and works in just 30 minutes. Follow our step-by-step guide below.
How to Remove Rust with Rust Remover Liquid: Step-by-Step Guide
1.Preparation
Begin by cleaning the surface to remove loose rust particles using a wire brush.
2. Use the Rust Remover Liquid
Shake the bottle well then pour into a suitable container. Try and use a container that fits the largest rusty item. Place the rusty item in the solution and leave for 30 minutes.

3. Remove and Rinse
Remove the item from the solution and rinse with water using a wire brush to remove any dark grey residue, then leave to dry.
4. Repeat the Process
Repeat the process if needed. The item can be left for longer for more severe rust. The solution can be reused multiple times to derust other items, but it may become less effective over time.

5. Maintenance
The surface should be painted or oiled the same day to prevent future rusting.
For larger items or hard-to-reach areas that cannot be dipped, use our Rust Remover Gel. Read our blog to find out more: How to Use Rust Remover Gel.
How to Remove Rust From a Bike
Bikes are prone to rusting, especially when stored incorrectly or left outside. Rust on certain components, such as the brakes and bike chain, can negatively impact the performance of the bike and its safety, so it is important to remove the rust thoroughly.
If left untreated, rust can cause some parts of the bike to seize up or snap, making the bike unsafe or even unusable. Some areas of the bike can be difficult to reach and will therefore need to be removed and treated using a liquid solution.
In this video, we treated this heavily rusted bike with our Rust Remover Gel and Rust Remover Liquid and restored it to near-new condition.
