The process of employing silver-embedded protection for furniture is a simple and cost-effective way of protecting leather items from spreading germs, as the properties of the colloidal silver within the formula kill 99.9% of bacteria and viruses, such as MRSA and E.coli, in 24 hours.
Silver has long been known for its sanitizing, anti-bacterial effects. The Silver micro-particles are suspended in the solution and once applied to the leather, remain on the surface and are totally invisible and non-toxic.
Any bacteria that then land on the protective barrier absorb silver ions which then work to inhibit the metabolism within the bacteria cells in what is commonly referred to as the Oligodynamic effect. By this process, the silver reacts with enzymes within the bacteria cell, rendering them inactive, preventing cell division and destroying it completely.
The Leather Protection Cream with added Silver has the same qualities as the original Leather Protection Cream formula, meaning it helps to prevent damage and staining to the leather. As it contains a natural blend of oils and waxes, it feeds and nourishes the leather preventing it from drying out, cracking and fading.
