About the product

The Power of Fabric Protection that Arrives in a Conveniently-Sized Bottle

Just like the President never leaves the White House without the accompaniment of the Secret Service, your fabric should never be forced to go unguarded.

Sure, there may be less pressing risks to fabric furniture and clothing, but that doesn’t mean they’re not equally important to address!

At Furniture Clinic, we consider the Fabric Protector to be the Secret Service of exceptional fabric protection: a result of incredibly high standards and thorough testing, created for the sole mission to protect and serve.

The not-so-top-secret details of this product’s mission are pretty simple: effectively repel all oil and water-based stains before they can damage fabric clothing, carpets and upholstery.

How Does the Fabric Protector Get the Job Done?

Three quick, yet powerful, steps are put in place to provide the ultimate repelling solution.

First, we recommend that you vacuum the targeted area thoroughly to remove all existing dirt and dust.

Next, you look for any stains that exist on the fabric’s surface. Are there particularly prominent, or stubborn, stains? In these cases, we recommend that you use our Fabric Cleaner and Spotter next, a product that’s also available online. Once the area is clean, allow the fabric to completely dry.

The third and final step is pretty fun – in our opinion! Take your Fabric Protector and give it a good shake. Once you’ve gotten your quick arm workout in, spray the solution onto the fabric, once again giving it time to dry. For areas of regular use, we recommend your allocate a little more of the spray to that section.

And that’s it! Not bad, right? That’s three quick steps that provide a level of protection that’s pretty much unsusceptible to even the most stubborn of stains: including coffee, red wine, and – yes – even oil.

For the finest in protective services, try our Fabric Protector today! You won’t believe that the most elite fabric protection product can be found online, for a great cost, and shipped right to your front door.

Before & After Photos

The images in this example show the effects of a coffee spill on a fabric surface, both before being treated by Fabric Protector and after. The difference can clearly be seen, with the spillage instantly being absorbed by the fabric in the 'before' sample. Where as the 'after' sample, with only a single treatment of Fabric Protector, effectively holds the spill on the surface, giving valuable time to remove it and prevent a nasty stain.

Step 1.

Vacuum the fabric thoroughly to remove all dirt and dust.

Step 2.

If stained or dirty, use the Fabric Cleaner & Spotter first. After cleaning, allow the fabric to dry.

Step 3.

Shake the fabric protector well. Spray onto the fabric and allow to dry. It is advised to spray high use areas first and more generously.

You only need to spray enough protector onto the fabric so that it dampens the surface.

Fabric Protector causes all of the above stains and more to be held on the surface, preventing them from drying in and staining the fabric.

Frequently Asked Questions

How often do i have to treat my fabrics to ensure proper protection?

For areas of low-mid use, you will only need to apply Fabric Protector once or twice a year to ensure a thorough, effective protection from staining and soiling. With areas or items with a high level of use, such as a fabric sofa or chair that gets used on a daily basis, applying Fabric Protector four times a year will provide complete protection from stains, spills and soiling for your fabrics.

Will it wear off over time?

Fabric Protector has been specifically formulated to be incredibly robust and long lasting, 1-2 applications will typically provide effective protection for your fabrics all year round for items or areas that are used less frequently. However, as with all things, the wear and abrasion from regular day to day use, like a fabric sofa or chair would typically see, can cause the protective barrier created by Fabric Protector, to wear away. With this in mind, we recommend a quarterly treatment for areas or items that will see a high level of use.

Can i use it on all household fabrics?

Yes, Fabric Protector is safe and effective when used on all fabrics and textiles, so you can protect your clothing, upholstery, curtains and carpets all with a single product. It can even be used on very delicate fabrics such as silk and wool.

How does Fabric Protector work?

When applied to a fabric, like your sofa or chairs for instance, and allowed to dry, Fabric Protector forms an invisible but highly effective polymer barrier on the surface of the fibres in the fabric. This barrier is highly resistant to all liquids and oils, this allows it to keep liquid and solid based spillages, such as food, tea & coffee, red wine etc. on the surface of the fabric and prevents it from being absorbed and staining the fibres. Oils, liquids and general dirt & grime can then be easily cleaned off the fabric with an absorbent cloth.

How should i remove a spillage from my furniture after using fabric protector?

The procedure for removing the offending liquid, oil or solid based dirt or spillage is the same for all items treated with Fabric Protector. As the liquid or dirt is held on the surface of the fabric, it is simply a matter of taking an absorbent cloth or paper (such as kitchen role), and blotting the area to get rid of it. It is important to avoid using a rubbing action when cleaning up a spill or removing dirt, as this will encourage further penetration into the fibres of the fabric and make it harder to clean.

For complete, effective cleaning and protection for all of your household fabrics and upholstery, we recommend our Fabric Care Kit, which combines 500ml of our Fabric Protector and 500ml of our Fabric Cleaner & Spotter in one handy bundle.
