About the product
The leather touch up kit has been designed as a DIY repair kit that includes a base color and several color tints. You tint the base color to match your leather exactly, e.g. if your leather is dark brown, you will get a dark brown base color plus various tints, which cover the whole dark brown color spectrum.
This allows you to get an exact color match to your leather. Once you have the color, you can then repair the damage;
Scuffs & Scratches:
For scratches just color them in with a paint brush or cotton wool bud. For scuffs, gently sand the leather to make smooth, then dab the color on with a sponge.
Faded & Worn:
If the leather is rough, gently sand it down to make smooth. Then dab the color onto the area and allow to dry. For areas larger then a tennis ball in size we recommend using the Leather Colorant Kit to make the repair.
Stains & Spills:
Nail polish remover and other strong solvents sometimes remove color from leather, easily touch it up with a sponge or cover nasty hard to remove stains.
The Leather Touch Up Repair Kit is suitable for use on leather items with small areas of damage of all types listed in the product description, on furniture, car interiors, shoes, handbags and clothing.
Safe to use on leathers including;
Aniline & Semi-Aniline Leather
Oil & Wax Pull Up Leather
Two Tone, Mottled & Antique Finished Leather
Coverage & Shelf Life:
The coverage the product included in the kit will provide depends entirely on the size and type of the damage it is used for, typically the kit includes enough to deal with many instances of minor damage such as small scratches or scuffs, but may only cover one or two larger areas of wear or staining.
For larger areas use the Leather Colorant Kit.
Items should be stored in a cool, dry place with the lids tightly fastened, they should not be stored at temperatures below 4ºC. Following these instructions the products in the kit will last for years without any decline in performance.
